I have exactly the same options using the generic adapter, while send and receive a file still don't work. It's nearly the same in my case, I got this laptop with pre-installed dos and then I have installed windows 8, a fresh copy over dos. So, he said the generic bluetooth adapter worked fine and that he needn't had to download any more specific drivers. on a fresh install of windows 8 and let microsoft drivers do the work. especially sending and receiving files, while other devices detect the laptop. In that microsoft discussion, one person said he got bluetooth to work. I will still have the ralink module and wait for it to release win 8 compatible driver. I heard few ppl got it done that way, but once again i'm not gonna be doing this atleast for now. The best possible thing i can do to make my bluetooth work asap is change the module possibly to broadcom by paying a little more at the service center. I don't want to go back to win 7 because right now win 8 is really good and it's officially activated too, since i paid a lot for the license. all i can do is either revert back to using windows 7 or calmly wait for ralink motorola to release a new windows 8 driver for my piece of hardware. It matches the hardware device in my laptop but the driver is compatible only with windows 7. I have seen the link to the driver that you provided. It's a sleekbook with win 8 64-bit pre-installed. My friend's laptop has the option for bluetooth to be turned on or off under wireless, but it's not the same pavilion g4 as mine. When i check the wireless tab, i can only see my wifi which can be turned on or off and there is no bluetooth option. When i click on add a bluetooth device, it fails to find devices and tells me no devices are found. When i click on send a file, nothing is displayed in the white box and the only thing i can do is cancel it. my phone doesn't connect to my laptop even though it shows the name. The problems i have so far seen are, when i click on receive a file. I wish to tell u that the send and receive a file options are seen when i right-click and browse the list from the bluetooth notification icon. Here's are few screens showing the bluetooth hardware i have in my laptop I opened the hardware id tab for the generic adapter has a generic bluetooth adapter and works with microsoft driver. Hi erico, here's a pic of my device manager. I want to know 2 things now, how can i make bluetooth work in my notebook with the default drivers or how can i download the correct and working driver for my ralink bt 3.0 adapter. but from what i see, i can't transfer files in here to other devices. Okay, so i thought the microsoft drivers are already working and bt should also perform. under the bluetooth there are 2 things shown, microsoft bt enumerator and generic bt adapter. I could see a bunch of other drivers such as qualcomm atheros 4.0, broadcom 4.0 and intel BT but not the one i supposedly needed.Īs for my device manager, it doesn't show me any missing drivers for my bluetooth. I had already done that and couldn't find the correct bluetooth driver for my ralink adapter. Now, don't provide me any links to download the driver from the g4 page. It's written as, adapter name - ralink motorola bc8 bluetooth 3.0+ HS Adapter. it's been 4 months, the model is g4 2049tx and has ralink bluetooth 3.0 adapter from what i have seen in the sys info.
